|Tags and hashtags are two very similar instruments. They are tags that we assign to the pieces, but the first are used on websites and blogs and the second are used on platforms and social networks. Both classify content. The tags, internally. The hashtags, externally. By fully understanding their differences and uses, they can complement each other on the corporate blog to enhance the authority of the content and favor indexing in search engines.
Both the tag and the hashtag are labels that define some of the features of the information that a piece of content transmits. An infinite number of tags or hashtags can be assigned to a single piece. A tag can mark infinite parts and may even only point to a single entry.
Tag: internal content grouping
A tag obeys a transversal and flexible Email Data taxonomy that extends to the entire website. In other words, it is not limited to a specific field of knowledge or a category within the site. The tag can define a post entry, a product detail page, a service description, or a case study, all at the same time.
The combination of tags and hashtags in the corporate blog provides authority and a better perception of the content
These characteristics of transversality and flexibility allow labels to be grouped into semantic fields, although some conceptual development does not quite fit into the whole. An obvious example is the Content Strategy Tagsmap ® .
If your website has a publishing guide or documented content strategy , it will likely have a list of tags or criteria for creating tags to make its functionality more robust. In any case, they usually include informative topics, subtopics, characteristics of what the content is about (price range, colors, gender, materials, etc.), applications, types of users, their needs, phases and stages in processes, which that is desired. Whatever the tag information is, it will have the same rank as other tags.
Operationally, the tag allows a single query and can be crossed with other search criteria. When you click on the link, an internal page of the website is displayed that groups together a portion of the content that is tagged with the same term.
The label itself has a semantic value that allows systems equipped with artificial intelligence a more accurate understanding of the meaning of the content. The tag acts as a modifier of the obvious meaning of the information, qualifying it. To do this, you must use the attribute rel="tag"in the internal link. Although, as explained in HTML5 for journalists , it must be used with care, because it can generate a loop that disables the tracking and semantic indexing systems and ends up losing all meaning in using it.
